Dr. Jahn's Hints for a Healthy Voice:

1. |
Drink eight to ten 8 oz. glasses of water or herbal tea a day: two with each meal, two between meals. |

2. |
Keep the heat in the bedroom down, and run a cool-air humidifier overnight. |
 |
3. |
Keep your nasal passages moist, using saline spray or saline irrigation. |
 |
4. |
Breath through your nose as much as possible. |
 |
5. |
Avoid, if possible, noisy places. |
 |
6. |
Use good vocal technique with your speaking voice. |
 |
7. |
Monitor recreational speaking (telephone, social occasions) |
 |
8. |
Don't share food, drink, dishes or utensils. |
 |
9. |
Wash your hands frequently. |
 |
10. |
If the voice is tired or hoarse, don't push, rest. |
